redbike

Living in the neighbourhood of Garneau has provided me an incredible opportunity to pursue my goals. The level of accessibility is unmatched to any other area in Edmonton. Having amenities such as the University, Downtown, the LRT, Kinsmen Aquatic Centre, Whyte Avenue, and the River Valley in a radius of less than 5km, it is no surprise that this is one of the most heavily populated areas in Alberta. With these core amenities at our fingertips and the population to support them, the grassroots communities have the ability to thrive. Because of this, the consumer wins. The level of economic diversity on offer is exceptional. Want a nice cafe for an afternoon chat with an old friend? Pick one of  the five arguably best cafes in the city which are only a few blocks away from each other. Life is simply better here.

The same level of choice is on offer for us, the “leisure enthusiasts” as there are countless bike shops, running stores, and now more popular than ever, yoga studies to satisfy our needs to unwind from the stresses of the work week. I’ve lived in this neighbourhood for close to 4 years and have interacted on varying levels with the majority of leisure establishments in the area. There are few shops that are so passionate about not only the product they carry, but the people that use them. All of us are looking for an escape in some form or another, whether its high performance sport or just an excuse to get out the door with the kids, we all have something in common.

I’m proud to announce that I’ll be working with redbike and DEVINCI for the foreseeable future. The staff at redbike have a wealth knowledge that extends beyond what just happens between two wheels. The level of expertise and community involvement is truly an amazing thing to witness and I am extremely happy to now be a part of it. redbike is just as much Garneau as Garneau is redbike. They are now an intrinsic piece to the puzzle which is a “Winning Environment- Opportunity to Succeed’
