Reading Week in Regina (CanWest)

Unlike everyone from the ETA squad training down in Tuscon Arizona with Barrie Shepley and company, I had the pleasure of spending reading week in Regina at CanWest track championships. Exciting hey?

From a racing perspective, the trip was less then ideal, I failed to reach standard for CIS National Championships and as a result, my track season is effectively over. I discussed my thoughts and overall feelings from the weekend with my exercise physiologist, Dr. Kennedy, and we both agreed that I've  reached a plateau. Whether it's caused by a mental block or physiological reasons, I've reached my limit for the indoor season. We'll be taking a closer look over the next couple weeks and hopefully, with his advise and expertise, the issue can be resolved before spring and racing season.

On another note, ever try the soda cracker challenge? I somehow convinced Raeleen Hunter, one of our coaches, to eat 10 crackers in under a minute........

"Pshhh, 10 crackers in a minute?"

The weekend was brought to a close at the CanWest Banquet, highlighted with old man Flemming shaving off the seasons stache

Here's a weekend recap, made by our team videographer, Isaac Tyler, including the track teams take on the Harlem Shake

And if I`ve learned anything from my time with the track team, it`s these wise words from Wes Moerman.
